Teaching style
Mr. Tyler works with students to develop a sense of their voice and how it relates to the instrument they play. Through fun games and exercises, students develop strong foundations for string playing and musicianship. He emphasizes correct positions, singing (fixed-Do solfege with new beginners or letter names if preferred), repetition and memorization. Parents and families play an important role in encouraging nonjudgmental positive reinforcement and regular practice.
